  • Whats a Jackson Junior?

Stumbled across one of these with a graphic on it. Never seen on before but the price for the condition seems pretty fair. What are they exactly? It has the pearl headstock with the MOP teeth around the tip etc?

Is 800 fair for one with a decent graphic OHSC and good condition?

Never had seen one before. Has the serial in the fretboard.

    Bolt on etc

This is not the Paul though I know where one of those are as well.

    This is a dinky body.

okay a bit more information, has scallops from the 12th and the headstock has those strange cut teeth in it, looks original but I have never seen anything like it. Find it interesting if someone did it this detailed without messing up the headstock.

    Heres a couple pics

HOLY CRAP! Looks like a USA made Doug Aldrich! Which doesn't exist. More close up pics, please Mutt? Fake logo? Can't wait!

Very cool! Just like an Aldrich right down to the thingies at the headstock tip, except no sharkies. Think somebody might have just ordered a Custom with Aldrich specs?

Yes, reverse sharkies just like the DA. The jack cavity cover is rounded though. The original DA is square'ish. I haven't seen that finish either on a DA.

Chris, please shoot some nice pics of this one asap. Please Wanna see if it has got a toggle, Duncan HS pups and JT-590. Looks like it has ebony board (DA Professional). As dg mentioned, it could very well be a Custom Shop DA (Professional) to the T (almost).

edit: I guess it is not your guitar so more pics will not be possible right away?

okay ill share the last pic as this was for sale online I may have overpayed but I just had a "feeling" on this one.

Its an odd one for sure. I will say that the pickups are aligned though it looks offset its the picture angle I called and asked. It has a few scratches and a small bit of buckle rash but not much. We shall see.

I bet it was born with a JT-590. The OFR is installed afterwards. Looking at the current pictures, the OFR does look quite offset to the bass side, as you mentioned.

It's a close copy of the DA Professional. It only has 5 lower teeth cuts, though. The DA Professional has 6.

That has nothing to do with a Jackson Junior.. the JJ was the Scott Ian model. And the Les Paul shape was the JJP... Jackson Junior Paul.

The Doug Aldrich model is killer! Congrats on that beauty.

                          Toejam what are these then?....

Crafted with the demands of the discernible player in mind, Jackson guitars give you the shapes, finishes and tones you love. From the venerable Rhoads, Soloist, Warrior and more, shop Jackson for the highest performance.

                          2. The serial numbers of Jackson Junior (JJ) guitars—the only Jackson bolt-on-neck models without neck plates—are stamped into the fingerboard.

Taken from the site...I assumed this was one of these simply because its stamped into the board and it has no neckplate. I may be wrong but it is also a J series serial.

Well, there's also been some Kelly models without neck plates.

JJ stands for Jackson Jr. which is what Scott Ian played. The bolt-on JJ models didn't have neck plates.
