  • Which would you keep?

So I had been clearning out part of the collection again as well as seem to be on a buying spree. I really can only keep one of these. Which would you keep?

The Aldrich Style Custom shop which is on its way to me

My 1990 Rhoads V with the "Dont Smoke" Graphic

San Dimas Black 2 hum Charvie

KV2 with the Purple/Blue Ghost Flames

Phil Demmel Black/Silver Obviously not the PDX

In the past month I got rid of my Bond, RR24, and my last Dimas Soloist. As well as I have a few other non Jacksons I offloaded. I really hate to get rid of these as its kinda the end of my collection that I have with me. I dont have pics handy im on the road till next week but just looking at the models. Im kinda hung without playing the Aldrich. And NO THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE AD and I dont need the patented Ron 400 quote lol. I just dont know which.

Im thinking the V's arent as comfortable so I think im okay dropping them out, thats why I got rid of the other 2. They looked great on my wall but thats about all they did. I dont play out or do much anymore and they just arent that appealing other than cool to look at which leaves the others. The Dimas would be hard to replace but not impossible, and the aldrich USA deal, though its not in my hands yet im pretty sure there are no other like it.

Ack I need to win the lottery or at least get another job I am dying here. Anyone paying well so I can keep these?

See which one is most comfortable for you to play and which one sounds the best to you. I personally would be somewhere between the Aldrich and San Dimas, but if it was only one, i would say Aldrich
Two guitars are better than one.

I'd keep the Aldrich if I were you. I love looking at V's, but each time I'm looking at the wall and wanting to pick up a guitar, the Soloist gets picked over the V. When in doubt, keep the one you will play the most. I wish I could keep guitars just because of their collector's value or rarity factor, but I find myself being more practical and the stuff that hasn't been picked up in a long time goes first.

This is where I am, I had at one point rob 25k in axes around here. Mostly Jacksons, Charvies, Kramers, Ibenhads etc. Slowly but surely I have whittled the collection down. Right now im in a money pinch and having to sell what I was considering my KEEP pieces and it sucks. But its also a matter of praticality. I play like 6 of the 25-30 or so I still have here in Texas. I still have another 30 in Ny with my dad. I think if the aldrich is as cool as it seems ill end up keeping it.
As for the V's perhaps those will go first, I kinda am partial to the Charvie as I have a thing for em lol.

        Thanks guys!

Keep the Rhoads "Don't Smoke". JMHO. Sell the production model guitars. I'm not sure why you'd wanna consider selling the CS Aldrich before you've even got it.

All things considered, I'd line up for a shootout between the SD Charvie and the DA. If you haven't played a 12th> scalloped before, take a week or two with the DA before final decision.

+1. I agree with the Dane. Saddened that you have to part with so many nice fiddles but we all gotta do whatever we gotta do to survive.

Thanks guys just to answer a question, the reason I thought /am thinking about the Aldrich is I bought it on pure impulse and prob shouldnt have. Just re-evaluating things for this year. I work for me right now restoring cars and qualified for the Pro side of the opens as well as fishing 3 other trails..Basically taking a shot at fishing for a living and this is a way to not go broke from the start.

I totally understand. I plan to offload a few guitars in order to free up money for video equipment for a documentary project and to setup a production house for authoring and editing. In hopes it'll lead to something better/bigger.

Starting to get curious about this Aldrich fiddle. More deetz please.

As I previously mentioned to you in an older thread, for peace of mind, if you decide against the DA, don't hesitate to contact me.
