Transparent Finish Hardware Colors

To me the chrome makes some of the trans colors look cheap. I have an SL2 burst with black hardware that I got from NAMM last year and it looks really good with black hw.

Agreed, I prefer black hardware in almost all instances, except 'chlorine' or 'cabo' basically any real light trans blue, I think looks great in chrome, but otherwise, word Black Hardware FTW... I did go Black on both my customs.

You are not correct. All hardware should be black, always, no exceptions.

And again I ask my question: Could someone order for example, a trans blue SL2HT with all black hardware, and not have it cost them as much as a custom shop order?

No. Maybe contact a dealer and see if anything has changed, though.
