Help IDing a new guitar

I picked up a pristine RR1 "Lightning Sky" at Guitar Center this past week. Of course, no one who worked there actually knew what make/model/year the guitar is.
So, after searching the web tirelessly for days, and reading a ton of misinformation, I decided to post here and see if anyone can help me.
Most of my confusion comes from the fact that from what Ive read, all USA Rhoads neck thru models have a RR serial, but, mine doesnt.
I only paid $650 ((traded an Ibanez RG350DX towards it)) and I love the guitar, Im just curious as to exactly what it is.

That's a pretty recent RR1. I think only custom Rhoads get the RR serial, and that's a USA Select guitar so the 'U' serial makes sense.

But interesting that it's another dirt cheap lightning sky?

All USA select neckthru guitars have the "U" serial numbers, including the RR1.
Only custom shop RR's get the RR serial number now.
