Dug this one out of the abyss yesterday night. There was one just like her on GC's site for a while but mines cleaner. I knew I had one of these somewhere just hadnt seen it in a long while. I snagged this from the classifieds back in NY sometime around 02. I played it a bit and took it out once and a while to jam but shes been pretty stagnant in the case. Everything looks fine and shes been climate controlled in a controlled humidity room up until the last few days. Shes got a few dings but for a black body she is very clean.
I decided this evening it was WELL overdue that she get the attention she deserved.

3 original jackson pickups didnt look at the singles but the Hum is a 10.8 and has some illegible writing on it. looks like JHBN someting lol. Sounds good though.

oiled the board
polished the body
Floyd is getting a wd40 bath but shes as clean as almost new
Tuners are getting a clean, polish and tighten.
Gonna make sure the neck is shimmed nicely and get that nice low action.
(I was really torn on pickups. I have a collection of white duncans that almost went in but I just couldnt bastardize this thing. Its way to original.
Replacing the Bridge with an OFR but still have the original JT-6 as well. I am even debating the black strings just to keep the theme though they sound a bit dead in my book.
Let me know what you think so far. I took her all the way down. Shes been sitting neglected for a long time. I think it was more than due. Not sure if I plan to sell this one or not. Havent gotten it all back together. I am thinking this one is kinda cool and may have to stay in my collection.
