SLAT90 : what is it good for ?

I have the possibility to score a mint SLAT90. I love those archtop (i already have a SLATQ-H). But as far as i know, these are rare model as they were produced only in 2001 just before Jackson introduced the SLATQ-H to replace the SLAT90/SLATM.

the P90 on this one are P-90 Stack® STK-P1. So for sure is not for death metal fans (what i'm not i'm more in hair metal)

So what is it worth for in your opinion ?

I have a 1963 SG Special and a 56 Les Paul as far as P90 loaded guitars. They are good for AC/DC up to Metallica's "Kill 'em All". Adding more amp gain then that increases the 60 (or in France, 50) hertz hum. I'm told Tony Iommi used one in early Sabbath (look up a youtube of warpigs in Paris).

P90's sound awesome with rock. For metal you need a high gain amp to compensate for the low output(and you might get mains noise)

Jake E Lee played a lot of Gibson SG's with P90's. I'd say you're safe if your playing style is in the 80's kind of metal.

And besides you can always get P90 sized EMG's :p
