  • Ballsack PC1 with an amber flamed top - is $1599 too much?

Found one of these. I do NOT like the neck. If I bought it, the neck would be sold and a DK1 neck would take it's place.

What could I sell the neck for to ofset the cost of the guitar? It's the 24 fret maple no inlay neck.

that is a lot of money to spend if you don't like the neck. it is hard to say what you could get for the neck. personally, i LOVE the PC1 neck and sears head, but i have no reason to buy one. but, if i were to guess, i'd say $300?
    GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

    and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

Thanks Mark. I've never paid attention to the price of PC1's because I knew I wouldn't like the fat neck. Is $1599 anywhere in the realm of being a good deal, or is this guy way off base?

He says he just got the guitar in Friday so he's not going to be wheeling and dealing for a few months at the least.

The price is decent. Not "great", but not too high either. If it's clean, its a fair price.

As for the neck, $300 at best.

The Strat head PC1 necks can pull in $400+

There's one on ebay starting at 1400..

I've wondered if it'd be possible to shave a PC1 neck down - I figure the trussrod goes in under the fingerboard in a normal depth channel, so there should be a decent amount of wood 'behind' it. Anyone brave enough to try?

Thanks. That's basically the same guitar, so I guess it's a Solar finish.

Edit: Correction. THAT IS THE GUITAR LOL! It's at Nashville Used Music if anyone is interested. To the best of my knowledge, the sustainer does work (I've never tried one before). The rear switch appears to be the on-off switch, and the front switch appears to be the harmonic switch. It's sort of heavy, but I imagine that's normal for a mahogany body+batteries+electronics.

                That is pretty damn clean.
Well worth the $1,400.00 starting price.

As for shaving the neck, it's been done on these before.
Have a pro do it though.

Who came up with name? They should see a doctor before it's too late.

                    Or maybe that's a post-surgery comparison.

In 1997 it's said they called in skilled designer "Jay Turser" to help them design it.
