Hi all!
I am new to this forum but I have been playing Jackson guitars since the mid '80's.
Wanted to share this with you guys. I recently purchased a vintage Jackson #664 that was in the process of restoration. The paint had been stripped, no hardware other than the original tuners, no pickups, no Tremlo bar and the fretts had been leveled.
I had the fretts crowned, Replaced hardware and pickups. I went with a Duncan Custom Custom HB. Man This guitar is incredible! I left the bare wood because I think it looks awesome. I was not sold on the Khaler at first since I have always had Floyds. As you guys know the feel is totally different I'd call it "Spongey" compared to the Floyd. What I really like about the old Khaler is when you do double stop bends it does not detune!
I have 2 other Jacksons, SL2H and a Dinky. I have 2 Charvels as well a Model 1 & 6.
This #664 is truely special and I feel incredibly lucky to have aquired it.
Enjoy and thanks for reading.
