    ...or if it must be an SL2H, several years ago there was a special batch run of 12 Soloists in Trans Purple with unfinished necks, matching headstocks, Dimarzio pickups, and gold hardware. Stage lights mine appear more red but it is purple:

    Roody, you have the most awesome guitars EVER. Super collection and thanks for the info. I honestly never played a string thru superstrat. Does the string thru set up make any difference in tone as compared to lets say an original Floyd set up? I've heard that having the strings more in contact with the body of the guitar helps it resonate better.

      Years ago I bought a Charvel 475 Deluxe and it had an "unfinished" neck. It just had a sanding sealer on it. It was a flat 12" radius with a super-low profile. Probably the best neck I've ever played. I lost it in a fire in '92 and replaced it with a USA Soloist in '93, but I'll bet you can find one on ebay. I paid close to $900 new for it, but I've seen 475 Deluxes going for $300-$400 used. Great guitars, made in Japan.
