  • Pics of the twins :D

    Thanks again to Corpsegrinder88 for the most awesomest Vs I've ever had

    Ignore the crapass pinstriping, it's a work in progress/rough sketch

    And something I just noticed when I posted the pic (to go along with CG88's "forgot I had it" thread) that makes the one on the left an oddball - the stringthrough holes are set back about another inch.

          I've considered that, actually. I have some stainless steel and some brass shim stock (really thin stuff) that I could use for that. Might make the stringthrough look a lot better, as it's never really appealed to me. Stopbar or trem, but if it has to be stringthrough, it oughta have a v-plate.

            So you've removed the emgs from the white one! I like that zebra bridge PU, works well with this guitar.

              Damn the white with the pinstripes does come together nicely. V plate would be sick too. Those are the only jackson V's i like - never been a fan of the 6 inline on any full V shape.
              Thing i've noticed about them is for a short scale they really don't look like it in pics, usually you can tell on a fusion or something but the frets don't look cramped on those.

                They're easier to reach for me on this body, though I do feel cramped on Warrior Pros and Fusions. That's largely due to the bottom horn on those, though.

                Since Vs don't even start until you get to the upper frets, you've got plenty of room. However, since the frets are spaced out more on a 25.5" scale, there's more of them actually in the body, so you're reaching over farther than with a short-scale.

                  are they the same scale length? It might just be the angle of the pic, but it seems to me that the one on the right is longer scale. Both bridges will line up (close enough) with the bottom of my browser window. When I scroll up to the nut, the one on the right is marginally higher than the nut on the left.

                  If they are different scales, wonder if that would account for the string ferrules being set differently?

                    Same scale, but I just measured from the edge of the board to the center of the crotch and the cream one is 1/16" shorter. White one is 10" even, cream one is 9 15/16".
                    Measuring from the 12th fret to the end of the board it's 6.5" on both, dead-on.
                    Measuring the wings from the shoulder to the tip:
                    Cream = 19 13/16"
                    White = 20", maybe 19 30/32" or 31/32"

                    There's an 8,333 number difference in the serials. A lot can change in that time. Might be a transition model?

                      t-t-t-TWINS! Awesome, congrats. I have a black 25.5" scale KV2T and I actually like it more than my KV2 as the wider fretboard is more to my liking. It's more similar to the Soloist... but I end up playing it less with the band as I don't want to bang it up

                        Headstock looks a little different, too, but that could be the angle of the one on the left.
