Hey guys! Can you please shed some light on this model: http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/msg/2481704517.html I was under the impression all SLSes are MIJ, but opened the 1998 catalog and was proven wrong. I was wondering how is the tuning stability considering the non-locking tuners. Was this a successful model in general? Is it worth having? Thanks

Looks legit. FYI, there was a different run of 24.75 scale SLS that came later. Those were made in USA too. Why would the tuners be a problem? Several of the Jackson T models (like the SL2T) don't come with locking tuners either. As for the model being successful, I guess not since they're not made anymore. I had one. Didn't like it. Neck felt a mile wide. IIRC I could never get the low E to intonate properly. Mine was used and came with Evos in it. That's when I learned I did not like Evos
Stayed in tune decent enough, but as with all nuts not made of graphite or that don't have rollers, the strings would "pop" just before reaching the correct pitch and jump a semitone up. I guess no one really understands the concept of cutting a straight slot
