Thanks guys - it's pretty cool. But it's still a headfuck to switch between necks smoothly, because the right hand goes for the switch and then tries to return to the neck it was last on LOL One thing I've wondered is why the necks aren't parallel on these. I figure I'm missing something stupid, but from a visual standpoint, parallel necks would be prettier.
I wouldn't be surprised if they won't do them any more. From a build perspective they must be a pain, and we've all heard the stories about the failures being flung off the factory roof (ouch!). I'm tempted to go back to gold and have 18 tuners in the case. But then I'd have to find a gold 12 string bridge....
I was a little concerned about the stability and asked a lot of questions about that before we agreed on the deal, plus I talked to previous owners. So far, I've not had any issues at all - I was a little concerned how it would react to me taking all the strings off both necks and then restringing, but it was good as gold. I guess it's had 23 years to settle, so the necks are pretty stable now.
I'm not sure as this is the only one I've had in my hands. I can certainly think of at least one bolt-on with sequential serials though.
They're both the same.
