if you can't check out Hardwire or MI Audio pedals, and your local store is a Boss stockist (based on your heading out to buy the dreaded Metalzone), try out a Blues Driver. BD-2, I think it is. It's a groovy pedal that seems to be largely ignored.
Or you could try hitting the front of your amp with an SD-1. Don't know if either pedal will give you what you're chasing, but while you're checking pedals out, they are a couple of cheap serviceable options to try.Hail yesterday

I'm a classic metal, thrash, death player and it serves those needs. It depends what sound you're after.
I had a Keeley Metal Zone too and that was badass.
Pat O'Brien of Cannibal Corpse uses a Metal Zone for a boost and its parametric EQ through his Mesa/Boogie Triple Recto, and it indeed sounds pretty bad ass!I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

I'd sell your Swamp Ash and buy a Marshall JVM. It will give you all the sounds you crave and more besides.
An SL2H through a JVM... pretty formidable.
4 channels with three modes per channel, Chimy cleans, a great crunch channel and two overdrive channels you can configure to go from rock to teh brootalz with no fuss. And a programmable footswitch to control it all.
I got rid of my Mesa Roadking for one and never looked back. All men play on 10. Never gonna turn down again.

That's not strictly true.
Banging any number hot chicks has priority.
Then perhaps hammering 15 beers and driving through Adam Sandler's house in a Challenger II battle tank whilst listening to Slayer.
But as guitar necks go it doesnt get much better. All men play on 10. Never gonna turn down again.

@Mazrium- I used to own a JCM 2000 (triple super lead..if i remember correctly). I liked it alot but needed money at the time so I ended up selling it. I watched a few JVM videos. From what I heard that OD2 channel is pretty sick.
As far as my SL2H goes I'm still waiting on it but the Fed Ex traker says its out for delivery. All I can say is HURRY UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both OD1 & 2 channels are the same. The beauty of that is though is that you can configure them differently and switch between at the touch of a button.
You can even configure one to engage the FX loop.
Genius. All men play on 10. Never gonna turn down again.

For an amp, spend maybe $150.00 and get yourself an older Line 6 Flextone or Flextone II from eBay. You won't regret it. I'm actually a Metal Zone fan (when used with a GE-7 EQ), but it can't touch the Line 6 distortions.Member - National Sarcasm Society

I dont think I'm going to keep the Jackson. It sounded good and was built really well not to mention it looked killer but in the end I didnt like the feel of it. I might give it a few more tries but I like the feel of my strats alot better.
If the neck on the jackson was exactly like my american strat I would keep it.
The feel of the neck is the main complaint. Just to clarify it had nothing to do with the painted neck. That was not an issue.
I also didnt like the placement of the volume or the 3 way but I could adapt to that.
