the guitarplayer in my band is also a lefty like me and wasn't sure about the 22-24 fret thing so I figured I'd ask. He likes it and may pick it up if some others chime in and say that 800 is a good deal.

leftys get not too many choices, so when a nice unit is seen, it's always good to know your getting what you pay for.

Hmm, now that you mention it, Im not sure if a Fusion is supposed to be 24 or 22 fret. That said, if it is indeed a legit lefty USA, then $800 is a deal for sure in my opinion.

we are gonna go out to the store tomorrow and check it out, and it's always nice to be "armed" with info beforehand

I think fusion was the jap model and dinky was the USA version....? I just don't know and you all will....

It looks like a legit USA fusion to me. Fusion was the 24 3/4 scale with the JE-1500, dinky was 25 1/2 scale (sometimes with the JE-1200).

It looks to be in good shape, and I would say $795 is a fair deal. I don't know if lefty would add or detract from the value, but last December I sold two USA fusions with graphics on eBay and both went for somewhere in the $750 - $800 range if I remember correctly.

They are great guitars that are somewhat hard to find (stopped production in the early 90s), definitely worth checking out in person. I love the one I still have.

and that is one of the reasons I'm here
I help you all on the bass side, and you all help me on the guitar side.

Also, their description is a little off on the electronics. The mini switch turns the JE1500 on or off. When it is turned on, the tone knob acts as a controller for the mid sweep (a wah type effect). But when the switch is in the off position, the tone knob is just a tone knob, not a mid boost like the ad says.

And I forgot to mention, fusions were 24 fretters, not 22, so that is accurate.

our guitarplayer now has a 475Deluxe lefty, and was just looking for another nicer unit to jam on. We are gonna take a trip up to the store and just see whats up..he may toss it on layaway or buy it outright if it is "as advertised" in condition as the store says. We know the store, we know the employees so who knows maybe he can get it cheaper...

Good luck. I love the feel of the fusions, and the mid sweep gives some really interesting tones for soloing.

Edit: I just checked, I sold one with Deco Dreams graphic for $767 and one with Bikini Beach for $860 last year.

I'm sure it's legit, but the only thing that is unusual is the headstock logo is silkscreened, not mop. The Fusion USA started in March of 1990, and from that time onward they were mop logo. Is the serial number 4 or 6 digits?

Nice. Too bad they built it backwards...
