@ Racer X - Really? I dare say this it what I feared! Its hard to tell from sound clips what pick ups feel like, are DiMarzio worth a look? Iv worked on a few axes with bare knuckles, but they all seemed far too bottom heavy and bouncy, i was after that ninja sound!

Ha ha, irritatingly the gentleman im purchasing it from is at work at the moment... that was my first question! but a photo shall have to suffice for now!

Right, the serial is not on the 25th "fret" as expected, where am I likely to locate this rather vital number..... im not actually home with the axe yet, but will try and get the serial up on here for your generic interest as soon as possible!
and for the record, im thoroughly sold on USA jacksons - MIJ just isn't even close! finally see what iv been missing out on all these years!

FR tremlo aftermarket fitted, with tremel-no, tripple shots , full shred in neck and screaming daemon in bridge, black pinstriping, mother of pearl inlays and jax logo, sperzel tuners aftermarket fitted too... all anodized alu plates, looks a damn sight older than 2005 mind..."If I'm in A-B and your in E-e on the 3rd fret, little string, while I'm back here, on the 7th fret big A... are we in tune?"Comment

If the fretboard was levelled when it was refretted that could cause the loss of the stamped serial numbers. You could try and do a paper rubbing with a pencil lightly over the area and it might bring something out CSI style. It's unlikely on a neckthrough for the serial to be anywhere else. such as trem route or pickup/electronic cavities.GTWGITS! - RacerXComment
