My 88 soloist came with a JT-6 and its got the R in the logo as well.Looks like an employee build hence no serial number.
VT 3M in the cavity is vol, tone and 3 mini switches.
    8 bills is about right.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Yep stray, you both have ontario soloist.

Yep. Or a 2nd. Strangely, not much is known about what happens when a guitar is screwed up, other than them just saying fuck it and shipping it anyway.

Looks like an 87 to me. The control cavity shape is the only wierd thing, given the mini switches and the vol / tone layout. However, this cavity shape was used around this time. JT-6 was standard during this era (i think)

Think it's legit. Whether an actual order or an employee project, it's nice.

You might also check the truss rod cavity, sometime they'll put (in pencil) a ser# there.

It's not BS. You are correct. The JT6 was on USA and import Jacksons. You'd have to supply your own Original Floyd if you wanted one, since Kramer did have the rights for it.

Toe I know for certain there as an option box on my 3 tites order form to get an OFR for 139.95 additional. Standard no but they would supply it according to that particular form. I dug through the pics but I dont have a close up of it.

And FWIW I have a 1xxx series Dimas Soloist enroute with an OFR on it as well.

Cool. They did ask customers to supply their own at one time before that, from what I remember.

I have heard that as well. I wish I had kept a scan of that paperwork, I thought it would be more common. It had the entire list of options to make an order as well as places for addendums.

I also had a completed one that detailed the 3 tite I had. Should never have sold that one but the ultimate new owner (long story) ended up posting it on here at some point. I hope those papers stayed with it. It was in the original tweed case with shit brindle brown case lining and all the tools and set up information from when it was new.

Endorsement or employee guitar. It's real.

I have an early Ontario Soloist that's an endorsement piece... no serial. Employee guitars were also no serial.

I can take a pic of the fingerboard if that will help answer the question.

Yes, that was the situation at one point. 1987 or so. If that sounds strange? Not really. Kramer was the sole distributer of the Floyd Rose in the '80's up until late in the decade.

Jackson was kicking Kramer's ass so it was a way to not wholesale to other builders and make getting another guitar with a Floyd a bit more difficult.

A friend of mine who introduced me to Jacksons just sent the the Floyds to Jackson to build a few in his mix of hardtails and Kahlers.

I am not giving her away after what I did tonight. 800 is about right before. She will now have an OFR, Duncans, Schallers, Chrome hardware, etc. Going with a little twist on it as well. I figure if no one wants to snag her then at least she will be set up in a manner where she wont just take up case space in the closet.
If you let Seymour know, the strat pickups can be made with a bottom plate to drop right in without routing. I had Tim Mills at Bare Knuckles do my 2 singles that way and it saves some work.

                              The results are much cleaner.

I didnt route anything to make it fit but I know what you mean if I had wanted to add singles.
