Thanks man. I was just thinking then, I should find a pick guard for my RR1T that only has holes for a toggle and 2 pots then I could fit the second battery (like you have). Does anyone here know where I can find an original Jackson pick guard for an RR1?

I've been looking online and haven't even come close to finding a dealer.

Problem solved - I removed the pot that's closest to the strings/bridge and then on the inside of the pick guard I neatly placed a piece of black electrical tape to cover the hole (from the inside, behind the pick guard). I wired my other two pots; one for the bridge volume and the other for the neck volume. I was barely able to squeeze the second battery in there. I wrapped each battery with electrical tape and also covered the back of each pot and the back of the toggle with electrical tape and the crammed the pick guard into place. There's a slight bugle in the pickguard on the lower sode that faces downward (if your holding the guitar while playing standing up), very un-noticable.

18 volt mod is the only way to go, I'd honestly would have likley looked for non EMG's if I wasn't able to get that 2nd battery in. I can't believe the difference.

I wish (and wonder if) they sell 18 volt batteries that are smaller than the size of two nines that could be used to save space?

By the way, is your RR noisy with the EMG's? How do you have the pots wired, one volume one tone or two volumes like I have?

I know there's a separate issue with my wiring, I actually have to have it re-wired. When I do I wonder if I can get the wires to cooperate better, giving me a bit more room so there's no bulge.

I had an ESP Custom Explorer which came from the ESP custom shop wired with a 3 way toggle and two volumes (one for each pick up) with EMG's. I had my tech copy the wiring layout to the ESP for my RR and for some reason the RR is noisy. The RR is a 2010 model and is basically still in new condition. We change the pots and still kind find where the noise is coming from. I'm going to buy all brand new parts, including a new output jack, and EMG wires (the white one that clips in behind the pickup), I hate having a noisy guitar it pisses me right off lol.

I also need to get the action tweaked I have some notes that are fretting out...Soon this will be the best guitar. The guy before me didn't have it set up right at all, probably why he sold it, lol, it was so uncomfortable to play with the action so high, it wasn't intonated and the EMG's with only a 9 volt sounding like ass.
