  • What makes an XTRR "XT"?

I just dont see anything unusual about them that cant be found on other various RR models. Is it XT because its a culmination of the various oddball specs of all the RR models?

Twitch, you're focusing on the wrong end of the model name. The only important part is the "RR"

Mainly the smaller (Dinky) body and reverse headstock, plus it's rear-routed.

Similar to how Dan Spitz of Anthrax had his made smaller, except Dan's had a standard headstock. Here's a tracing someone did a few years back. The Chris Holmes RR was actually standard size but got broken and reshaped.

Cool, this makes me a little more interested in an XTRR. Ive always felt the upper wing of an RR is a little long for my liking.

XT supposedly stands for "Extreme" and basically all it is is a slightly smaller body size than a regular RR.
It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

Here's a comparison between the RR1 and XTRR in the 2000 catalog.

Yeah, I can see it in that pic...it looks like the overall body shape of the XTRR is the shape of the RR1 inside the bevels.

I believe that's what they pretty much did, just cut off the bevels of the RR1 and then re-bevel it.

....not to be confused with Pablo's Extreme series, which has the jagged cutouts.

That's what I was told originally, but that's not really the case. Perhaps that applies to the top wing of the current XTRR body, but the bottom wing definitely doesn't fit that. Here's a pic of 4 XTRRs with a Rhoads, but there's something of an optical illusion because the two guitars on the right have rev heads (so they hang differently) and the guitar on the left is short scale...
