Thanks guys
Grover - I agree it is hard to play anything else. I always liked Jackson but for years did not get one, something always came up( need a car repair or some other nonsense) but in 2009 I found the 2007 soloist on the used wall at GC in Cherry Hill NJ and its was in near perfect condition. I could not believe it. I played and bought it and have been completely hooked on Jackson ever since. This was my first new Jackson and hopefully won't be my last.
Red is hard to photo correctly , I will try to take a photo in the sunlight later2011 USA Jackson Soloist

I'm not a photography guru....just somebody who hacks around with the controls on my camera a bit. Anyway, when I sold an ESP FR-II trans red, the best shot I got of the top was indoors with a longer shutter time. I think maybe one second or so. I despise using a flash. All the rest of my shots were outside. The outside shots worked great to show the overall condition of the guitar, but I just couldn't get the quilt top to "pop" well in any of the photos. Also, be careful with using compression.....red seems to really show compression artifacts. Maybe somebody with more photography experience could chip in.

Indirect diffuse light will generally give you the best result. By all means take it outside, but take a pic of it in the shade outside, preferably with no bright light in the background because then your camera will under-expose the guitar itself.GTWGITS! - RacerX

You sure it's plastic? The black rings on my SL2H are metal.2003 Jackson SLATQH Custom (cobalt cabo), 2002 Jackson SLATQM (burnt cherry), 2011 Jackson Chris Broderick Soloist (transblack 7), 2007 SL2H (black)

Deathrider- it sounds warmer than the alder, i love mahagony it is my favorite.
Church2224 - yes it is the same I drove down to CMC guitars and met Steve and tried several Jacksons he had. Super nice guy and would definately buy another one( or ten) from him.
Len - they are actually metal, chrome they look black because of the reflection from the case it is sitting in. all the hardware is chromeLast edited by Mikey2201; 10-08-2011, 07:13 AM.2011 USA Jackson Soloist
