Both my SL2H and SLATQH came with metal rings so I don't know.

Church2224 - yes it is the same I drove down to CMC guitars and met Steve and tried several Jacksons he had. Super nice guy and would definately buy another one( or ten) from him.

Steve always has some nice ones in stock. I have been eye balling some of his for a while and have talked to him several times, very nice and cool guy. Good to know some people here are supporting him.

          Major Congrats!
          I have a trans black sl2H-Mah
One of the best sounding guitars I've ever had.
my chrome pickup rings are metal as well, maybe they use metal on the Mah modles and plastic
          on the others?
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

Jacksons with black hardware have plastic rings. I replaced mine on my SL2Hs, I ordered black metal rings from stewmac, same screw holes, a perfect match. they look way better than the plastic ones.

The rings on my Trans green SL2H are steel and chromed as well as the rest of the hardware. The body is Alder with a Maple neck, replaced the Duncans with some chromed bobbin Evos.

My trans blue RR1T has black plastic rings. One day I will replace them with metal ones but I'm not stressing about it.

Congrats on a beautiful guitar. I had also seen it in CMC website. His transparent green also looks saucy as well as transparent black one. Did you get any discounts?? Yeah post some more pics.

I seem to remember the transparent green and red one being 500 more expensive than the black one. Is this because these two were considered to be more exclusive than the black one?

I asked Steve and he said it was because the colors were exclusive and not available as standard options for the model, so yeah.

As Steve/CMC explained to me is the trans black, cherry burst and natural are considered "standard" choice colors, solid trans red, blue and green are much more limited runs and cost the dealer more and than cost the consumer more.

I played almost all of Steve's USA stock and I am really becoming a huge Jackson fan. Custom shop stuff is just incredible as much as I love the USA *standard" stuff, the custom shop is mind blowing. He had something called a cloud 9 that was just astounding to play.
