  • wtf this is BS! Help please

I called Sam Ash and tell them I want an RR1t in snow white/ black pins. They dont have any in stock and would call Fender about it. I then called guitar center and they told me the same and they would call me back.

Well, they both call me back and tell me the same thing, that Jackson doesn't make them in white w/black pins anymore, if I want it in that finish, it would be considered a custom color.

Yet, they said the regular RR1 in that finish would be $2550, yet the RR1T in the finish would be $2950!!!

wtf that doesn't make sense. I told them to call Fender back and tell them, why does the RR1t cost 400 more than the RR1 if they both have the same custom finish. They told them the RR1t costs more money because it takes more work to do.

So you are telling me, a guitar with a Floyd Rose with lots of routing, costs 400 dollars less than the same guitar with a simple Tune O Matic and no routing for a trem?

Update: The real reason its 400 dollars more is that the white w/ black pins isn't a standard finish on the RR1Ts anymore, but they still offer the finish.

    So RR1= $2549 RR1T= $2949

      ^That is beautiful!

      I want no other finish

I really want the RR1t, but $2950 is reaching custom shop pricing.....I dunno why they stopped making them in snow white/ with black pins. That color seemed to be very popular.

Can anyone tell me the number to call to discuss this, so that I can talk to Fender/ Jackson myself? This doesn't make any sense to me...

      Thanks.

They sometimes discontinue colors. Also, I recall the RR1T being more limited, as in only about 50 pieces made a year. They're great guitars, and I owned two; one black and one gunmetal gray. I've still got the GMG.

You could just buy any old used usa rhoads string through and have mike learn paint it like that. Come out way cheaper than.buying new.

I am kinda weird when buying used. I like buying amps, pedals, etc used, but not guitars. I like my guitars to be 100% my own and not played by anyone else other than the factory workers.

Does anyone have the number I should call to discuss this with Fender/ Jackson?

and the distributor. And the store owner. And the store staff. And the store customers. And the dude that bought it & returned it.

unless you're talking about that guitar manufacturer that hermetically seals their guitars for freshness once they've passed through QC

Some advice: Dial it down a notch, don't expect much.

                    Thanks bro.

I won't be rude or anything. I will just say I have been a happy Jackson owner for years and this pricing confuses me, I really wanted to order a RR1t, and it shouldn't cost more than an RR1. The RR1 requires a lot more work to make than an RR1t. I will post back here on what they tell me...

nah. the only people who will play it would be the factory workers + me. If I special order it, I will tell the store that when it arrives, I want to open the box first. I will let them go over the guitar and then take it home.

Forgot to add, the guitar center worker who called me back as usual didn't know what the fuck he was talking about. When I asked him, "why does the T model cost 400 dollars more when it has a ToM and no routing required?"

To which this guy replies, "probably because the original and first Jackson Rhoads guitars had floyd's and are the true model"........

                          LOL

I then replied "um, no they didn't. The originals had a strat trem and one was a fixed bridge ToM. They didn't have floyd's, so if anything, the RR1T is the true version"

I swear those workers don't know anything when I talk to them :/

If a factory worker is also a player and plays a new guitar, then how is that any different than a player playing the same guitar? Is there some sort of "mojo" explanation or something? Just trying to understand the benefit of hermetically sealed guitars.

As far as used, when I was looking for a snow white with black pins RR1 a couple years back, there were more RR1T models popping up on Ebay than there were RR1s. And they sold very reasonably from what I recall. $900 to $1,200 range. Don't know what happened, but the used RR1T market does seem to have dried up.

ginsambo might be able to explain that
It's all about the blues-rock chatter.
