Unfortunatley theres nothing to "research". Thats a Japanese guitar, period. Aside from the neck plate, its 100% Fusion Pro. Everything about that guitar is fusion pro, except the neck plate. The body, hell even the flame maple top and back are exact. Believe what ever story you were told, but its a Japanese guitar. Value? $400-500. Even if it was a USA made Fusion, even those are only worth about $600-800. Nobody really wants a short scale Jackson.

Actually the flame does not show in the pics...it actually is less orange and more red with falmed maple I assume but it is flamed.

Did the Japnise models offer switchable actives?

Also, didn't the USA fusion bodies have the scalloped lower horn?

I don't know if ALL of them did, but every one I have ever seen (and the 5 I have owned) had it. I've seen USA Dinkys with & without it, but never a USA fusion without it.

Anyone seen a USA fusion without it?

The USA ones didn't. They had an active circuit called the JE-1500 that is activated by the mini toggle. The pickups were passive.

When you flip the switch, does it create a wah type effect that can be altered by adjusting the tone knob?

No sir, not "stating facts". Pros are Japanese, end of story. No ifs ands or buts. It's ok though, as you've simply been misled. It's not your fault. Nobody's mad at ya But you've got to come to grips with this.

It is operated by the mini toggle between the volume and tone knobs.

Battery operated by a batery in the back.

Those are not 'switchable actives', they are passive pickups that have an active JE-1500 circuit that can be turned on or off. The pickups are always passive.

So in answer to your question, yes, the Japanese models did have that configuration of pickups & active circuit. The link that Axegrinder87 put up shows it.
