I'm also sure that if Jackson itself were contacted and made aware of how discontent you are with your local dealer that other arrangements could have been made. There's absolutely no other dealer it could have been repaired by? Maybe another dealer wouldn't have been as convenient to you as your local one but how inconvenient is it compared to the inability to play a brand new guitar for two years because of an issue with it when it was purchased brand new? I'm not one that's just gonna accept what's being said here when it's so obvious a blind man could see that there's something not being told about the whole deal. If the wife got it on some kind of deal that stated it couldn't be returned it would have been stated so by now. If it couldn't be returned what was the reason? Was it a factory second?
I'm lazy like that, so I can understand the OP pretty well.

Jackson totally screwed up on my custom XTRR. It was actually a decent guitar, but they screwed up so many of my requests it was pathetic. Anyway, I sold that guitar about what I paid for it so I wasn't at a total loss. I didn't even want to deal with Jackson on it either, so many lies and broken promises as well as failed ship dates. Sometimes they cannot get something right.

I love Jacksons, and if you look at my join date you'd see I'm not some new guy trying to be an asshole, so stop trying to play hero ok?

I don't understand why people defend Jackson over stuff like this either. I get tired just thinking about having to deal with idiot salesmen refusing to do the right thing. I think we've all been there with one product or another....

Nah, I know you're not new, and I don't think you're an asshole in this discussion. You're just standing up for your point of view.

I'm not defending Jackson. There's no excuse for shoddy workmanship. My issue is with a story that sure seems to be leaving something out, as I said above. I also believe that if the owner of a guitar, bought new, has an issue with it, then there are steps to be taken to resolve the issues. Now if a person, Xeno for example (and not ragging on you, just using you as an example of someone who chose not to), chooses not to take those steps, then that person has to accept the responsibility themselves for the issue continuing. The ball doesn't stop rolling at your local dealer. That's not the end-all if they can't seem to resolve the issues. As I stated before, there's more than one dealer even if it is less convenient. No way in hell I'd let a brand new guitar worth $2400 just sit for 2 years while my wife asks why I never play it.

This place is unreal. The guitar is not stolen... It was purchased through American Musical Supply Serial #006725. Fact is I'm fucking RICH!!! I dont care about a measly $2400 even though the guitar cost me about half that... At first I played the guitar a lot. Started to feel like it wasnt my thing so it sat. Picked it up once in a while to try and bond with it again and the thing seemed to get worse and worse over time.
When my Wolfgang needed service I also brought the jackson in. Thats when the severity of it's condition was evident... If I dont like it when I get it back I'll sell it on this board to one of you assholes...

Ive had some issues with USA Jacksons as well, most of them are documented here. Granted none of mine were purchased new by me, but all of the defects I found were manufacturing defects. Some more excusable than others though... Ive got a PC1 and I absolultley love it. Aside from the neck being pretty thick, its a phenominal axe, great build quality.

Now, being someone who does fretwork, Im super critical of it on almost everthing I have, and fretwork has been one thing on USA Jacksons Ive never had to complain about. I live in NJ as well and to be honest, our climate is pretty rough on guitars, especially unfinished ones. Combine that with a piece of wood that might not have been dried correctly and is unfinished, Im not totally surprised that youre having fret issues, though I agree that at the price point, these issues shouldnt really be happenning.

I don't know how or why this ended up with you having to defend your actions and explain yourself.

This is exactly what Phil explained to me about the frets popping up. I knew this about the guitar when I got it but figured my Wolfgang also has a bare wood neck and is super stable so I wasnt to concerned. I'm hoping the guitar is better then new when I get it back. Phil seemed confident he could get it into shape and said it wont leave his shop until it's right...

I'm pretty disappointed with Jackson/Fender QC, too. The trick is to not buy the shitty ones, or send them back and tell them it's unacceptable.

I have been watching and reading this thread from the beginning. I don't understand why you would have to defend your actions on this one either. All companies can send out a dud. With that being said, I think your statement of "Completely disappointed with Jackson/ Fender QC" is a bit unfair. Correct me if I am wrong but Fender/Jackson never got a chance to look at this or correct this at all. You took this one time to a shop that you already felt had sub-par workmanship, got their opinion, and left it sit for two years. To say negative comments about Jackson is pretty shitty. If they would have given you a run around at some point in your story then maybe but damn at least give them a chance at making it right. I don't know, nor do I care to know, how you became "RICH" but if it had anything to do with manufacturing, or service, and you never made a mistake, you'd be the first! However if you were given the chance to correct that mistake, and did, then you're obviously doing something right. JMHO

I have to agree with you. Jackson never had a chance to see the guitar so blaming them 100% is unfair. I've been a little frustrated with this guitar since I got it. Compared to my Hamer's and my Wolfgang it just doesnt measure up. I have high hopes it will when I get it back.
BTW, I am in the service industry, have made plenty of mistakes over my 22 year career and have done my best to correct them. I'm a consultant and trainer now and am at the top of my field...

I said I was "Rich" out of frustration. I certanily dont like being called a thief just because I dont like a guitar. My wife and I do enjoy a comfortable lifestyle though and the purchase of this guitar really wasnt a big deal...

Sometimes I wonder if people actually read the thread or skim 1 or 2 sentences out of 3 pages worth and furiously type up their replies.

Hope your guitar is better than new when you get it back! Congrats on being RICH!!!

If it is a USA Jackson bought new from a USA Jackson retailer, then it is covered under warranty against defects in manufacture.
You shouldn't have to pay a red cent for that guitar to get set up.
