  • RR1 neck profiles?

I´m thinking of buying a RR1. Problem is that local guitar stores have only cheaper Jacksons on display. If I have to order one without trying it first it would be nice to know what kind of neck it has.

I already have a JS32RR and a RRXMG. JS32´s neck is thicker and I don´t like it very much, it´s playable of course but not as nice as RRXMG´s. How does RR1´s neck compare to those Indian made Jacksons? I have understood that RR1´s neck profile and other specifications have changed during years. I´m probably buying a new one so I´m interested mostly in recent model´s specs.

Perhaps someone here has both USA Select Rhoads and a new X-series Rhoads and can tell about their differences?
My Jacksons: RR1 x2, RR Pro, Soloist Pro, RRXMG x2, SDX, JS32RR

There is variation in RR necks, but they're all relatively rounded C shape... they're a little meaty, not Jackson D profile/speed neck at all.

FWIW, the RR was based on an LP backshape. If you like those, you're all good.

The original RR was, but the newer ones aren't that thick. The 2000 RR1T I own and 2004 RR1T I used to own, have necks that are a little thicker than the KV1/KV2 speed neck profile, but they're still not that thick or rounded like a Les Paul.

Yeah I was going to say -- Aren't they just Standard Jackson necks? Like Soloist necks?

Definitely not a Standard Jackson neck, RR1's only have 22 frets.
Honestly i think there is a standard Jackson Soloist neck , but they change over the years. My U0XXXX's ,are more flatter and faster
starting down at the 4th fret and working its way up,than my 2010 model.

They were the same dimensions as Soloist necks at one time, but not sure if they are now or not. According to the 2001 catalog I just checked real quick, they are the same, but haven't checked the specs in other catalogs.
