    Update on my Jackson PC-1

    Update - For those that are just itching to know what happened with my PC-1. I got it back from Philtone and brought it to my local service center once again. Dealt directly with the owner of the shop and explained the situation. He evaluated the guitar and agreed the nut was too far from the first fret. Actually, when he checked it his reaction was HOLY SHIT.

    He asked me why I didnt have it checked sooner, So I explained that his shop had the guitar two years ago when it was new and I was told it was fine. He assured me he would have it taken care of.

    A Return Authorization from Jackson was issued, the guitar was shipped to California for repair, a new neck was installed and I received it back today.

    Just got done playing it for about an hour. It's like a completely different instrument. The new neck intonated perfectly and it plays like a USA Jackson should!!!

    I also think the new neck changed the tone a bit. The guitar seems brighter now. I'll know for sure when I bring it to rehearsal and play it through my Bogner. This guitar was a little darker then my Wolfgang with the original neck...

    So I must admit. I was wrong about Fender/Jackson Customer Service. They fixed the guitar and turned it around in half the time the service center said it would take. The guitar was gone about a month...

    Cool. But why would it be shipped to Ontario, Canada? Jackson in the U.S. and has never been located in Canada.

      Your right. I saw Ontario CA on the return form and thought it was Canada. It's actually Ontario California...

        Surely they're not in Ontario any more either?

          It could just be the closest shipping depot to the factory. Regardless, I'm glad everything worked out. It looks like your initial problem was poor support by the dealer. It's good to hear they turned it around.

                Glad you got the issue resolved.
                I've never had any issues with JCMI fixing legit issues.
                The hard part is getting past a guitar shop's technicians.
                I don't know why they fight putting in an RMA request for warranty work.

                      He was, My original thread was locked so I decided not to post any updates until I had the guitar back...

                      Phill found the truss rod set too deep into the neck, and the adjustment nut was not lined up with the hole at the top of the neck. Made it difficult to get a wrench on it. After finding that, he strongly recomended that the guitar go back to Jackson and see what they would do...

                        Wow, it sounds like the original neck was a true disaster. Good to hear things got sorted out.

                            I like to think the neck was made on a Monday after the Superbowl. This guitar was the most expensive frustrating POS I've ever bought.

                            Now that it's fixed, It's like I got a new guitar all over again. I've been playing it pretty much non stop since friday. Used it at rehearsal last night and it sounds great through my live rig...
