  • Soloist Variation Question?

Has Jackson ever made a production or at least limited production Solosit with body and neck binding?
I have a non-Jackson guitar with a natural (non-painted) flamed maple top, ebony fretboad, H-H configuration, FR, satin gold hardware and body/neck binding. It's one of those guitars that takes my breath away every time I open the case. Would like to find something similar in a Soloist but (for me) a big thing that makes the non-Jackson guitar is the body binding.
Did they ever make a non-custom SL2 with body and neck binding?
No honey, I have always had this Jackson....

The only US made bound body production Soloists were the SLAT series (archtop, 22 fret, string thru)..
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Yeah, very similar. So much so that (unless I'm missing something), it is a production guitar. The name was SL (soloist) AT (archtop) Q (quilt) and then a suffix for the pickups: H for humbucker, M for mini hums and I can't recall what the P90 one was, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it was P.

I have been doing some searching but I cannot find anything that quite fits the bill.
I am just on a big high with the Soloist. I thought I was more of a "bolt on neck" kinda guy but recently I have beeen playing my soloists more and more. I have a couple of SL1's with graphics and one that is an amber sunburst. I would like to get a sunburst or natural SL2 but I am looking for something a little different...that's why I am asking about the body binding.
How about any limited productions through MF?

Technically, they didn't really have binding. I believe they had the edges taped off so the natural wood showed through on the sides so it looked similar to being bound.

Good point Joe - wasn't really thinking of that, but yeah, they're not really 'bound' as such...
