  • NGD - Jackson Custom Shop Soloist

I picked this up from Matt at Matt's Music. It was my first transaction with
him and Jay and I've very satisfied.

The guitar plays great and sounds huge. The oiled neck is a nice touch along
    with the locking Sperzels.

It also has a Buzz Feiten bone nut. I don't know much about them other than
they overhang the fretboard a bit and are supposed to promise better
    intonation.

The other surprise is that the blade switch is a 5 way. I'm used to dual hum
guitars only having a 3 way, so it was cool to get some for variation to the
    sound.

These are pics that Matt took. They are way better than what I can pull off,
    so enjoy!

Amazing!!!..incredible flame top...there's something about the natural wood on guitars that I really dig...

What's with the headstock?? is it a different wood??

That is awesome. Love that finish, very classy.

Does the 5-way do some coil splitting?

It must do something because I did hear 5 distinct tones (or at least I think I did ). I haven't opened up the back yet to check the wiring.

Freaking awesome man! Love it! I also really love the artistic way you took the pictures in the mirror.

I see what you mean and it is not as dramatic in real life versus the pictures. It's normal to switch the direction of the grain when a scarf joint is used on a neck. I believe it has to do with stability.
