  • NFD...(New Fusion Day).

Got me a Fusion I was looking for last few months. Unfortunally, due to the financial constrains I had to let go my other Fusion. So the group photo is the last one, Tye Die had to be sacrifised.(People ddidn't want to buy my Suhr in these econimic times).
But I got what I wanted though. I will still be collecting Fusions and my next one on the list is the Saturn graphic.
Pil'o'sculls was resqued from a craized Superglue wielding rapist and I had to do whole lot of microwork to cut the glue by razor...it look better now. Plays like all the Fusion do (the best playing guitar out of them all), original Jackson pick up is Ok but I may swap it eventually.
    So yeh here it is.

Interesting that the inside of the trem route looks like burgundy mist or something similar.

Fusions are wonderful. Sorry but you Suhr does nothing for
me and that flat black looks ugly IMO.

On the other hand, you have an awesome collection of Fusions and a Saturn would be an excellent addition.

You just need a sucker to take that Suhr

That Suhr is one of the best playing (non Fusion) guitars I ever owned. Something about those guitars that you feel quality when you hold them it is kinda hard to describe.
Finish is the only draw back but it is also the only reason the guitar cost $2100 instead of $3400.

Ok. I'll be honest I've never held a Suhr, but they just don't do anything for me. Anderson's neither. I'm the type that has a hard time paying more than $500 for a bolt on.

Suhr were the guitars that made me believe that bolt ons are actually superrior to neck through. I used to only go for Soloists now you won't catch me anywhere near them (unless they are 80 with 3 switch system). I have 5 Jacksons now all bolties. The only bolt ons I still have hard time to apreciate are the Explorer or Les paul style. Those must be set in. But when it comes to super strat it has to be bolt on.
              IMG_0051.jpg All 6 guitars are Neck through. 2- SL2hs, 1-SL2HT, 1-SL1, RR Pro 1990, ESP KH-2.
              IT WAS MY OLD HEARD.

Here is one of my last pictures...absolutely no NTs, all after I got this Suhr..It is that good. (I am still Jackson guy and only praising Suhr because they deserved it)

Funny, I'm the opposite. I have had 5 fusions & 2 dinkys, but all are gone except for one fusion.

I was a bolt on guy until I got my first soloist. I've been a neckthrough guy ever since. The only bolt on I have left (the fusion) never gets played, but it was a custom job, so I won't get rid of it.

If you get yourself a Suhr, you'll go back to bolties

Something about unfinished necks draws me to bolties. I will one day try a Soloist with unfinished neck.

Ok, you used to have neck thrus and now you have bolt ons. But you've only lightly touched on the "why".

You mention you like the unfinished neck. That doesn't concern me - I get along with painted necks as easily and unfinished necks.

As I look thru my spreadsheet of guitars, my most expensive bolt on is a Charvel Aqua I got when Sam Ass blew them out for $495. Great axe. Then going down the list I have a KE3 body with a DK1 neck that is my smashing thrash metal guitar (still using Duncan Designed pickups because they sound great), but I sometimes wish it was a KE2. Then I have a Fender FSR dual hum metalic burst maple neck great for Maiden stuff. A USA ST-III, a USA Jackson Dinky from 1988. Several HM Strats and a Ibanez RG550 from 1990. Lots of Fusions (no USA's though).

So it's not that I don't like bolt ons, I do, but I have yet to break $500 on one. But I think I might do it on this ProMod I'm building from scratch. I'm getting nickel and dimed to death on every little piece

Try Adrian Smith signiture you'll get hooked. EBMM JP-6 is one of those bolties that will blow any NTs away. I think bolties have a much thinner neck then SLs. Neck through does nothing extra for me, I don't believe that "sustain" myth. Adrian Smith sig will sustain for hours, you can go through three soloists before AD stops :-)

Eh. It's a preference thing. I've tried a ton of bolt ons (including the two you mention) and I just don't like them as much as a neck-through.

That Pile o' Skulls is awesome! Wish I could have afforded to take that tie-dye off your hands, but we have a little one on the way, so the budgetary priorities have changed for awhile.
