For Me, during the early years of Jackson, they attracted my attention because of the bright colors and graphics. I had not even played one but I knew I wanted one. Always wanted a bright pink RR like Vinnie Vincent.
When I got a slime green Charvel I was disappointed. It is not bright enough! I thought it would be like my Ibanez LNG, not even close.
I always felt that during the 90's -2000 that all production type finishes were boring (pretty much like the music during this time). All companies seem to stop trying to offer outragous finishes or something new. I can appreciate a nice flame top, cherry sunburst but the florescent colors still get my attention....then again I am a child of the 80's and have never been thought of as having good taste.
I dont care who plays a pink jackson but i dont think they look right for me. I prefer the graphics like lightning sky, blood drip, graveyard scene, etc that to me is more 80's unless you are in POISON

I'm a death metal head with my roots in thrash and early 80's metal. I don't like them at all and wouldn't own a day-glo guitar personally, but I don't mind seeing them, some of them are quite pretty I used to love them. Give me a solid black guitar and I'm happy.

However, I have no issues with seeing day-glo Charvels and Jacksons. That's as much a trademark of Jackson as their sharkfin inlays...

I love the idea of moving the volume control= WIN!,non recessed floyd= WIN!,less wood cut for cavity=WIN!
Old school logo=WIN! crown head tuner=WIN! smaller headstock=WIN! oil finish instead of poly=WIN!

              Florescent pink,yellow,orange,green= FAIL! why jackson?
outside of maybe the green i just dont understand how anyone would go out there with a evil but classy looking jackson in one of those color's
              I disagree completely.

Its just different viewpoints. I personally dont like anything about these guitars BUT the colors (except the oil finish which I think is fugly) I like the bright colors, it represents the ear in which Jackson's were born, the 80s'. they are cool and fit the bill. the other changes such as the logo, the headstock size, the gold & black hardware mix, and the non recessed floyd are not for me. I dont like anything about them. but hey, thats why I have my SL2H and love them. and lots of people may love these modded models, and thats cool. its all good.

It's about freakin' time too, if only they'd do these colours in the imports.

They must be finally seeing that Ibanez is doing well with the brights & having a shot at that market too.

Black, white, grey, natural.........nice but boring. We see them every year. I want bright colours & graphics, DO YOU HEAR ME JACKSON???????

Still waiting for a Kawasabi Green WRMG with DK2M neck, MOTHER FUCKERS!

Yeah, Thrash is fine, but frankly all this black-black-black-on-black is getting rather retarded. If you can't convey the blackness through the music while playing a neon pink guitar and wearing neon yellow and hot pink and neon green clothes with flashing disco stage lights, then you have failed as a musician and need to get out of the way of the real musicians who have enough talent to do it.

I'm liking the colors! I remember watching a Great White music video and the guitarist was playing a bright ferrari red Jackson (or Charvel?) and it looked bad ass!

There are plenty of other Jackson's that would suit your taste...

If you need a neon pink guitar and need to wear neon yellow and hot pink and neon green clothes with flashing disco lights, you might actually want to learn how to play instead of distracting people with obnoxious clothes that make the statement that you're gay but afraid to publicly admit it. You can tell your buddies it's all for the show, but in truth dressing like a girl lets you be free.

agree with xenophobe .you cant go out and play some real thrash ,not to mention death metal, while you are dressed like barbie's daughter.... how would you feel if Iron Maiden where playing their music-which is directly connected with the show appearance-dressed like hippies or rappers......when you play live ITS ALL ABOUT THE SHOW(the crowd cares even more for the "stage show" otherwise they can stay home and put a cd to listen to)

I agree. Having a "flashy" or attention grabbing guitar is fine. But I tend to avoid anything gaudy and 80s glam metalish.

I distinguish between "flashy" and "gaudy".

                                That was a troll.

I honestly don't care what anyone else plays and I certainly won't judge them. I probably would point and laugh, but that's something entirely different.
