  • What Collen model is this?

My local GC has what looks like a PC1 with the Old style headstock, but it's missing the third knob that's on the newer PC1 model. I think it is normally used for the stainer. They have it tagged as a 90's player. Is this an early pc1 or some kind of import, lower end model?

Earlier ones just had the two knobs. Probably legit.

If it's USA and got a sustainer, it's an early PC-1 with no tone control. If it's USA and doesn't have a sustainer and is a weird red or brown color, it's a PC-2 Guitar GC exclusive. If it's an import, then it's a PC-3.

        PC2s had a wilkinson also...

But this is a Mocha PC1 used at GC for like a grand right?

Oh, yeah, the PC2s only had the Wilkinson trem. The PC1s I think only had Floyds, and the PC3s first had Wilkinsons and then Floyds.

Yea, that's it. It's got a mocha quilt top, old style headstock, no tone control, but it feels like a pc1. Oh, it's $900 and the guys here know close to nothing about Jackson's and they're no help.

So is this an early pc1 then?

Odds are I would say yes if it has a floyd and sustainer.

All signs point to an early pc1 to me. I would snag it if it all works

Early-ish yeah. I don't recall when the tone control was added, but I think it was after about the 4th year...

I Got it and I'll post some pics when I get home. If its not a real pc1 I can always return it.
