In 2004 I tried to order a custom demon... it didn't come out as well as I had planned.
This is one of the mock-ups that I provided:
Here's a progress picture where I determined it was nothing like I had spec'd... if you noticed the trem location, I wasn't happy that there was so much fat ass sticking out the back and it was spec'd as a full archtop:
I was allowed to cancel the order and receive a full refund or have it remade. I cancelled it. It ended up getting a completely different paint job and was sold to someone through one of the well known Jackson dealer, and I think it made an appearance at NAMM, I'm not sure.
So I've decided to revisit this Extreme Demon yet again... Here is my almost final body shape mock up based on the ebay demon:
It's going to be natural finish, burl wood this time... the original Demon was clear coated mahogany, I'm not sure, but it certainly wasn't alder or maple... so I wanted to pay tribute to the original one, but updating and modifying the shape to my liking.
And I don't care if you like it or not, I'm building this one for myself because I've wanted one, but not exactly like the typical demon shape, which is just too boring. And if you notice, the body is smaller and the neck looks huge. I've done this because I just love how my Warwick Thumb Bass plays and sits while standing.
Just thought I'd share the one order.
