Damn, i love that Ibanez M8M! It's monstrous with that shellac finish, 29" scale and single hum configuration. Awesome score. As for the Demon, i'm not really into the smaller body size, but that's just me. I wish you'd stop using Imageshack xeno, none of the photos work for me so i have to go through a proxy site.

And yeah, I really wanted one of those M8M's but I didn't want to pay the $6k. I love the single hum too. My friend says the necks are really thin and that I should like it, so I'm looking forward to checking it out. From what I understand, about 30 have been built so far and no more orders are coming in... so even if I don't like it, I'll probably hold onto it for a while...The 2nd Amendment: America's Original Homeland Defense.

Did you buy the M8M used? Awaiting the impending NGD thread for that one... The limited to 30 makes sense as they're built to order IIRC.

Well, I don't think it's limited at 30, but so far only 30 or so have been ordered, from what I understand. It's pretty limited market... not many people want to pay that kind of money and it could be discontinued at any time. The 2nd Amendment: America's Original Homeland Defense.

Well by used i meant pre-owned by somebody else. Congrats on snagging one of those, i'm not really a huge Ibanez fan to begin with but the M8M is about as badass as guitars come. You're right about it being a limited market - 8-string guitars are still relatively a niche product to being with, but a 29" scale Meshuggah signature guitar priced at ~$6000 will only attract a certain number guitarists with very specific tastes. It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

Dude, I just got it... went to my practice studio and noodled around with it. It's pretty amazing. The neck is really thin and it's actually really playable. It smoked the Charvel 7 CS Strathead that I bought and immediately returned. I thought I would be completely lost with the 2 extra strings, but oddly enough after a few minutes I'm able to use them, though incorporating them is a little weird. I just need to adjust and figure out how the extra octaves work out, but so far I'm pretty impressed. The guy I bought it from is actually a member here, he just doesn't post much...
And, thank you Brian! I owe you one!The 2nd Amendment: America's Original Homeland Defense.

Xeno: Congrats. Have fun with the M8M. Though I don't own one, I have an Agile 8-string. Figured it was an 'economical' risk. Not bad I must say. I just couldn't see myself to ever pay $4k-$8k for an Ibanez. Sorry, just can't do it._______________________
