  • 88 San Dimas Strat Rebuild

    Hey guys,

Rescued this girl off a guy locally that completed hacked this thing. For whatever reason he spray bombed it black and removed the JT-6 (which of coarse he didn't have) and blocked the route and installed a tele style bridge

So I snagged it and started patiently removing the spray paint and rebuilding her.

So far I was able to remove the top to expose the zebra original paint. I have left the sides and back for now. Not sure if I want to tackle remove the whole body or now.

The electronic were all there but the humbucker. So far this what I got!

I am going to compound the body and try to bring out a shine again if I can!

The former owner of this is walking proof that common sense isn't really all that common. Glad to see it's in good hands now. Looking forward to progress pics.

Agreed! And its a real shame too...this thing has a long road to recovery but damnit if this isn't one of the best playing guitars that I have ever played! I'm gonna sell my SG that I have as my back up and put this one into the rotation!

Very cool Dinky. Some of those early patterns were done on the front only and the back and sides were just black. That zebra looks like it probably wrapped all the way around, though. Resto the whole thing ya lazy bastid!
