    I'm sure you can if you string up with very few winds around the tuning peg. Even so, call me paranoid but personally i wouldn't do away with a locking nut. It's all well and good doing some vibrato and flutters but when you divebomb to the point where the trem arm is almost touching the body and the strings are hanging to the floor, i'd like some reassurance that the strings won't slip out of the nut when i return to zero point.
    It's all about the blues-rock chatter.
