not a fan of pink but how often do you find MINT 86 floyd'd dinky strats. platinum pink, nice thick ebony board, bridge pup was changed looks like a full shred? nice low serial# SD appointments. now i just to find a case for it.
Yep, I tried to work a deal, too. He wouldn't ship, etc. Looks great, I would've loved to have had it. Glad someone here landed it. That's got a cool Jeff Beck-ish vibe going for it. Congrats!
Yep thats the one. It was a young guy who was selling it, he claimed he inherited the guitar. It was a dirty mess, but cleaned up real nice. Even the headstock tip is good, just 2 small clear coat scratches on the front, but u have to really be inspecting the guitar to notice them.
Damn that is a sweet piece! Love the Platinum Pink. Sorry, but pink has been a fashionable color for a long time, so I don't associate it with just the 80's. It's the new/old black!!!
scary thing is i did clean it, it took me scraping it with a credit card, a scotch brite pad and a whole lot of gun stock oil to get it to that point. whats left is more wear and slight discoloration from the years of gack that was on it. The ebony board is tight and the grain is barely visible. the pickups are shot, only the middle pickup works. the neck pup has no wires into the electronics cavity and the bridge hum seems like someone wired the 4 conductors like singles not a humbucker. not such a big deal, set it up w 10's in Eb it plays really nice.
