I wondered the same thing. Some dealers still have them but you really have to look. I'm sure people who go to Jacksons these days do so for the soloists but it sucks that they won't have a more traditional bolt on superstrat anymore in the USA line. Who knows, perhaps they will have a new dinky lined up."Dave Mustaine - apparently, he invented thrash AND Christmas." - Grandturk

Anyone from Jackson still on the hoard who can hopefully deny this obsured accusation??"Some days you're the dog, other days you're the hydrant." - on the back of the business card for Bella the Pomeranian

I allways thought the Dinkys should have been more than a bolt on Soloist. Like 1 hum 1 sc, reverse headstock or a maple fret board etc. I would make sence though to have Charvels be the bolt ons.Then again Charvels have a NT Soloist too.H3LL IS HOME!!!

Not that I can speak of anything in a knowledgeable fashion.
Theres a pretty big difference in neck profiles though from the dk1 and Chavels, no? The unfinished thin profile jumbo fret ebony neck is what makes the dk1 attractive to me. And that they are 24 frets."Some days you're the dog, other days you're the hydrant." - on the back of the business card for Bella the Pomeranian

'absurd'
I read that as "obscured" w/o a C But that doesn't make as much sense as your theory, Force.
What about "hoard" ? I'm going with the fact that the H is right above the B, so Fat Finger Syndrome on that one."Quiet, numbskulls, I'm broadcasting!" -Moe Howard, "Micro-Phonies" (1945)

For me the DK1 is more than a bolt on soloist, I own them for the oiled neck. Maybe most don't care, but for me a painted neck feels sticky and the oiled neck is super smooth. If Jackson sold a production USA neck thru with an oiled neck I would probably own one, but they don't so I have two DK1s and an RR2.

Hoard = Board
Obsured = Absurd
Wow, I am getting better spelling and grammar lessons on this forum that I ever did in grammar school!
Come to think of it, obsured just doesn't look right. Doh!Last edited by stevoc; 12-31-2012, 10:31 AM."Some days you're the dog, other days you're the hydrant." - on the back of the business card for Bella the Pomeranian
