I don't move my hand all that much when I play, but I've heard others complain about this before. I'd also say it's less of an issue on the TOM bridge models due to the strings being higher off the body. One of the things the Music Zoo did for the special vintage soloist run they did was moving the volume pot:

I don't have a USA soloist but the SLX is the same. I am always having to check it & turn it up again. I'll be interested to see how the fixes come in. I have what is probably an unrealistic thought. Do they make a pot where there really isn't a shaft? It would just be a blade slot or phillips slot that would be even with the body. If so that could be the tone pot placed at the volume position, then the volume in the tone spot. Although that is kind of out of the way/inconvenient for swells.KV DM PRO, SLSXMG, RRXMG, DXMG, LP P90 Goldtop_GSP1101_RM4: JF SL-OD100_Randall RT2/50_Peavey 4x12 cab
I'm loving the Jaded Faith mods. Going Egnater Dual mod route: Voxless, SL-OD100, Brahma #39, QuickMod GT

Get a thick o-ring close to the shaft diameter. Put it on the shaft ( that's what she said ) and tighten the lock screw while putting slight pressure on the top of the knob. The friction of the o-ring will keep the knob from turning without intention. Of course this will no longer be your go-to guitar for your triumphant "Cathedral" cover. Unless you use a pedal of course.GTWGITS! - RacerX

Take it off and use a volume pedal! What I did. If you want to roll it back or fade in with it, it's no real drama without the knob.

To me it's a non-issue. You get accustomed with checking the volume intermittently during play. My Fender American Deluxe... now THAT has volume knob issues worse than any Jackson I've ever owned...

I'm not sure this will help, but here I go anyway: use the Floyd bar as an indicator.
I have the bar screwed in tight and placed between the edge of the pickup and the volume knob. This way, my hand would hit the bar first before the bar gives way and exposes the volume knob. It might make more sense if I post pics!
Let me see what I can do.

I'm with ya on that, C-man. I flipped a beautiful green ghost flame SL2H a while back simply because the volume knob pissed me off to the point of homicide. To be honest, for that kinda cash, I'd rather NOT have to relocate, plug, refin or rig up some kinda McGuyver-esque solution. But that's my problem. More Soloists for the rest of you ass clowns
PS- the irony is too much: the Vintage SL2H-V's have the non-recessed floyds and the volume is moved to a MUCH better position imo.

Sorry if someone already posted this - I had the same problem with my Jackson fusion. If I looked at it the volume pot it would roll off. So recently, I hunted down a pot with higher turning resistance (harder to roll off). I wouldn't say its resolved the issue completely but its WAY better and I'm living with it. It was to the point where I couldn't even really play the guitar.....now its great....-Now....shut up n play yer guitar
