  • The only thing I wish was an option that isn't there would be direct mounted pickups with no rings.

After getting my SL2Q pro series I am now a convert. I think I would prefer if my SL2H was ringless.

At this point, with Jackson's having pickup rings is so ingrained in me that if they didn't have them, the guitar looks incomplete. I think direct mount works on plain guitars with dot inlay, but not on guitars that are fully bound and inlaid.

      • Direct mounted pickups look cleaner and more streamlined, but i don't mind pickup rings either.
It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

        • Yeah, I have no problem with the pickup rings from a cosmetic standpoint. After playing a bit on a guitar without them I think it feels more natural though.

I need a superstrat, so an one hum Dinky with a maple fretboard would be nice!

            • I could really go for the SL1H except not a fan of black with black binding.....now if the color was pink......?
No honey, I have always had this Jackson....

              • Has anyone heard if the Custom Selects that are on order are still on schedule with the 4 month estimate?

                • Not heard anything on mine yet.

                  • Gah! About 3 weeks to go on the estimated 4 months and the wait is killing me. I can't imagine what you folks who wait 2 years go through.

                    • Please post pics when you get it.

Hoping for the best - and encouraging that my first order is already into paint - but not going to hold my breath. Hopefully, I'm pleasantly surprised.

                      • Heck, I not only don't want to wait for a guitar, the color I wanted was only made for a limited run of 10 "SL1 Special Edition Pinks" anyway, so you can imagine how stoked I am to own one of these 10 limited editions!

Crafted with the demands of the discernible player in mind, Jackson guitars give you the shapes, finishes and tones you love. From the venerable Rhoads, Soloist, Warrior and more, shop Jackson for the highest performance.

I saw one at NAMM (love at first sight) and recognized that this pink was a different shade than the lighter "Platinum Pink", and it was explained to me that they would only be available on a Soloist in this limited edition run, so I knew I had to snag one!
Lucky me, one came up on eBay...a quick phone call to the store later, she's on her way...

Congrats man. I know how you love pink (I'm with ya!). I'd love to see that one in person. I assume it's eye-piercingly pink.

                          I'm jealous

Make sure you close one eye first. Life will be tough if the pink pierces both of your eyes at once

On the Custom Select page on the Jackson website, "Special Edition Pink" is listed on the color options.

Mine was ordered right at the end of January. Pretty much at the 120 day mark and Matt's hasn't heard a whisper if it's close to being done.
