USA Custom Select - your thoughts?

IMO I would love having the Custom Shop logo on the front. I don't get the trc hate either. Different strokes I guess.

My Custom Select won't have a trussrod cover either. And the headstock will be colour matched a light shade, so the CS 'text' will hopefully not stand out as much as normal.

I think CS guitars should just say "Jackson" on them. I don't need Made in USA or Custom Shop logos, I'm fine without them or on the back of the headstock. A true custom is gonna obviously be custom. Honestly, I don't like truss covers either. Way to put three holes and a 50 cent piece of plastic on a $5k guitar....

My 2 CS's on order will have "Custom Shop" on the back of the headstock. Made in USA will be on the front but I could have had that on the back too. Both of mine will NOT have truss rod covers - total waste in my eyes.

If this is the standard of quilt top they're going to use, I'm disappointed. Maybe I'm being harsh on this one, but this isn't exactly Custom Shop worthy to my eyes.

I was at the CS this past Friday and met with Kurt Walton (and Mike Shannon too).

I was told that J S/N's will be used for custom select and they will also have "Custom Shop" on the head stock.

Yes. According to the build sheet I got, "Custom Shop" will also be on my headstock.

+1. Always thought it was something better addressed on the back of the headstock. I just prefer the cleaner appearance without it. Same with artist sigs. Not a deal breaker by any means, though.

Yeah, pretty much one of the first questions I asked was about the serial prefix. I could live happily without the Custom Shop logo on the head, but it wasn't a deal breaker..

Might have to spec one out if its something I can actually recieve in my lifetime...

Well, "into paint" can mean anything from a few weeks out to being done, up to a few months. Depends on what the paint will be. To be this far along already is pretty dang impressive, though.
