Paint thinner may soften/melt the binding. You can get a razor and separate the binding from the edge of the fretboard (at the corner of the 24th fret) if you're that curious. personally, I think it looks cool, although it doesn't seem to continue after the neck joins the body.

Thats what I meant, scrap a bit off. And it stops at the 3rd fret or so

I really didn't want to post on your thread (I didn't want to offend you), as red ghost flames is my favourite Jackson finish and rare to boot. I can understand if it was dinged up and needed a refin, but you're killing me here If I were you, I would have sold the guitar (to me, at a low price ) but your guitar, your decision in the end.

Well anyway, I'm interested to see how this one turns out, probably really cool. Keep us updated with the pics.

I knew someone wouldn't like it! It looks a lot cooler in pictures then it did in person... to me at least. After selling the OFR and the EMGs I was sitting south of $500...
