I wish it had a compound radius fretboard.

If I remember correctly, the stock pickups are Dimarzio - Are they? You should be able to call Dimarzio directly and get the exact pickups in black. If Dimarzio won't sell to you, find a dealer and they should be able. From my experience, Dimarzio is very quick to turn around custom orders.

It has to much blue in it and the quilted binding turns me off too but that is all cosmetic. i believe changing the pick-ups to black, providing they sound as good as the ones in her now, may change my mind on the quilted top. The off white with blue tint just fights the whiteness of the pick-ups. So does anyone have any pick-ups that may be equivalent they would willing to sell or recommend?Originally posted by ulijdavid View PostIf I remember correctly, the stock pickups are Dimarzio - Are they? That selector switch is way further forward than the volume pot on any Jackson I've seen. However, swapping pots round won't devalue it (as long as you don't wire them up incorrectly )Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

I'll let you know you now next week as I have a trans-black inbound.
I played one in my my local GC and was blown away. Simply a killer axe. It's heavy, but I loved the thick tone from the mahogany body. I like the 12" radius fretboard (just like most ESP guitars MII, Horizon, etc.). The control layout kicks ass too. Everything low and recessed. Stainless steel frets, and the DiMarzio D-Activator pickups, sounded great. Overall epic winz sauce.

I think they look fine... seems like a lot of fudging around for nothing.

I also think they look fine. Though, you could always put on bobbin toppers. http://www.universaljems.com/cart/bobbin.htmI feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

I know it sounds trivial but you got to see the difference in the whites in person to understand I guess unless you already did. The pick-ups draws attention from the quilted top instead of complimenting it. It is just a stark contrast of two whites from a professional painters point of view. I like the bobbin topper idea. May be a solution to my dilemma. Thanks a lot. Now if I could get it not to make my other Jacksons feel like child's play!I like black and white guitars
