  • Thoughts in the Ian T-1000 1H hardtail

NGD!!! I just received the Ian T-1000 on a trade for my Swee-Tone and wondered if anyone else had demo'd one and what there thoughts were on it. It has many cool features and as usual I can find something to complain about, this time around I am not to fond to the fret markers and that is it. The other appointments are dead one though. Single hum, oiled neck, string-through, nice placement of volume knob, cool paint finish and the beast is stout. I guess not having all the routes for the other pick-up, floyd rose and extra knobs and switches, the things has got some weight to her. Over 9 lbs. Very well made, just wish they made more soloists with these exact specs w/ no fret markers.

Nice guitar. According to Scott himself, those have a JB in them. The El Diablo has blades and looks like the Iommi pickup. Jackson screwing up the specs on their website again... what a shock!

No problem. You could always pull the pickup and see what it says on the back.

I love the idea behind those guitars. I bought one and was unhappy with it though. I posted a thread a while back detailing all the things I thought were wrong. Maybe I just got a lemon? Does yours fit in your case?

It fits in the case rather snug Dog Boy, would love to hear about your concerns on the one you had. Also thanks for the info Corpsegrinder88 and toejam and for all the hell yeahs on this beast of a guitar. I have never been into signature serie guitars and only tried out the Broderick and Ian due to trades I have made lately. I will say, that these two signature serie guitars I just got really have it going on. Jackson did a great job on each of them. I would recommend them to anyone to try out.

I was never that big into signature guitars either, but I got a first year run of the Mark Morton model (back in '07 I think) and it's amazing! I've since gotten a Dean Dave Mustaine model which is really cool (Jackson shape speed neck), except I'm not that much into the V shape any more and rarely play it. And my fiance got me an LTD Alex Wade 7-string for Christmas that also really kicks ass. I'll have to check out a Broderick one day.

Beware if you do, they are just to nice, I have my cosmetic issues and going to swap that switch back the middle but it is one very well balanced guitar, my biggest flaw in it was it my other guitars feel weird after I played it. So... I will say it is in a league of it's own.

You can find a JB just about anywhere. The Iommi/El Diablo pickup has rails and is not on Scott's signature Jackson.

That's what I'm afraid of! I'm trying to say no to GAS!
