It's a parts guitar... But if it plays nice, I'd do the trade.

Based on the pics above, I'm pretty sure that's an oversize pickup ring as found on the Model series Charvels. The gap on the side of the ring between the edge and the Duncan is wider than normal. Also, it looks like the 2 back plates are plastic, not metal like US ones came with. And that volume control is exactly where the Model 2 location is. Usually on SD or Ontario-made the volume was a little bit further from the ring. Taken together, I think the body is from a Charvel Model 2. I think that color was one of the available colors for a Model 2.

As others mentioned, it is still a great guitar! I own a few Model series and love em all. A US neck and real Floyd only add it it.

The electronics cover plate and trem cover plate should also be metal, not plastic.
Appears to be a 0317 stamp in the rear cavity.

I have a four digit soloist, and the bridge is way off the body..Most likely caused by the fact their main bridges were jt-6 not floyds. So if it was put on or sent in to be put on the guitar would still have the same neck heel and body neck cavity.

                Parts guitar.
Import body with USA neck and plate.

That would explain why the neck pocket had to be tweaked to get the angle right for the trem.

Deff an 87-88 import model 2 body the belly cut and recessed trem cover plate route indicate that.
Probably the original color too which is called electric blue.I have seen those inked numbers in some trem recesses usually in the later 88 models.
                  Really? well screw Mark Twain.

The belly cut on my soloist goes all the way to the trem cavity...definitely from the days when they used more hand and less machine.

Also, pull the Floyd and see if it is a German made one or the newer Korean made ones. That is a considerable difference in value also. I seriously doubt it would be a West German made one. I hear those fetch the big big bucks!

It would be stamped on the top.Not saying this is a USA stray.
