Coral sea ?

Can anybody give me the history info on the color

Early 90's finish. I had a USA Warrior in that finish, but sold it later to buy other music gear.

It was originally based on a Pollock painting titled "clown puke", but they removed the maraschino cherry bits to make it more appealing to guitarists.

Not very long. I'd say maybe 1989-92. Based on what comes up for sale, there can't have been too many Jacksons made with that finish.

I've only seen a warrior and soloist in that finish in my time here.

That's the first Rhoads I've seen, but I've seen a couple of early 90s fusions and dinkys (dinkies?) along with warriors and soloists.

Coral Sea varies a lot. When it's good it's one of my favorites. When it's bad it can look like kindergarten art class gone wrong.

It's kind of like a crackle finish in that they are really hit and miss. Like if you compare the soloist to the Rhoads linked earlier, the purple blends a bit better then the red on the RR.
