  • NGD: 89' Soloist Archtop.....

For me, this is it. A USA Arch Top soloist. Hardly played if any at all. No play wear on the frets, a lil grime on the board, that's it.

after a good cleaning and polishing

Mahogany neck, Mahogany body, two piece figured maple top under the Black

Stock OFR, schaller made, us pat#'s on block. Stock intalled pair of emg 89's, push pull vol w/3way strat switch. nothing touched inside.
After a good buff and polish, new set of strings, She tuned right up without a hiccup or struggle. No issues, plays like butta. a Keeper.
and I do not mind the emg's either.. well, for right now...

    and a group shot

Awesome, just awesome. Mahogany soloist = pure win in my book.

Nice assortment you've got there. Gotta love variety.

That's just all kinds of cool.

I noticed you flipped the neck pickup.

          Good eye

yes, I wanted to hear the diff with the stacked coil towards the neck.

even with the EMG's, "she" has quite the woody, warm, mahogany, "woman tone" to it.
going into stacked mode (single coil) gets real close to the SA area.
Kinda goofy thou, EMG's with the big rings... But then there is no work order# or anything in the trem spring cavity, just the tag print stamp.
Some mystery... It rocks for me and that is all that matters

Very nice - great to see a rev head too! Gotta say I'd be surprised if the EMGs are factory given the oversize rings, but I guess stranger things have happened..

Well, be surprised then, because it is totally untouched under the hood, and totally old school emg at that.
And... a good clue of... no ground wire to the spring claw...
              pics...

Perfect (except the binding on the body but I think I could get used to that) that is a great looking guitar.
I like revvie headstocks and arched tops.
                  Congratulations!

I think the body binding makes it. Gorgeous guitar

I think this one is ... One volume knob...perfecto! I have a Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass (black with the same color binding), and I think the color combo looks outstanding.

I felt that "heart tug" when I finally scrolled down to the full pic. What a great looking axe.
