Great looking guitar. I don't understand putting on a figured maple maple top if you are just going to put an opaque black paint job over it. Why not just use regular maple?

Being a former employee at the GCS for a many years, there was, is a reason or two that a guitar got shot an opaque color...
This Archtop has some of the same reasons. I can see the figured grain patterns of a quilt maple 2 piece top,
but I also see the irregulars in the grain, wood as well. Very thin finish on this for a Jackson.
