  • RR0821 - scammed

This was posted on another forum, but figured it would be worth sharing here:

bought RR0821 out of Seattle, it's black and brass factory floyd. I paid with postal money orders, and a month later I received a box packed with pieces of wood. I know he had the guitar because i got specific pics of it, like i usually do buying online. It was bought from:

    Todd Roberts
    14039 Greenwood Ave. N
    Seattle Wa
    98133

BEWARE, and keep an eye out for RR0821. It's Mine lol

On a serious note...I just dont know how to deal with this situation. I've filed a form at usps but I gotta wait I guess. I have all my texts /pics/name/address/receipts/money order copies, even the craigslist ad printed off.
    Anyone have experiences like this?....

Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Make a trip to Seattle, if that's where he is from and put a foot, deep in his ass. I may sound a little violent but stuff like this boils my blood. Legally you should call the police dept in Seattle. I bought a neck from a guy over in Illinois and he never shipped it, wouldn't return my calls or anything. I called the Police over there and they informed me he was in jail for something. I used a postal money order and made it so he had to sign for it. I checked with the USPS and they confirmed he had not gotten it yet and it got sent back to me. So no harm there. Good luck, no one should have t6o put up with this stuff.

I believe the buyer called the local cops and they wouldn't do anything.

That would be mail fraud. Call the postal inspector in your area and see what can be done.

Sadly, nothing will be done unless there is a pattern of behavior... someone needs to do this multiple times before they'll even consider acting on something.

                            I can only relate.

I bought a white KV2 on ebay in 1999. It came from Germany. I got worried as the day before delivery, the seller started getting loads of negative feedbacks suddenly being logged about him being a ripoff artist.

Got the box, opened it up, sure enough there was a Jackson/Charvel hard case. Phew. Opened the case... two red house bricks. That was it.

Even worse, I kept the case around and finally decided to sell it off on ebay in 2012. It turned out the buyer later reported it was "damaged in shipping" and paypal sided with the buyer immediately and refunded them. No case got returned (apparently "must have been lost in the post" and that was that).
