Brian's not been at Jackson for 2 years or so now Joe..

Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

      1. If I'm reading the thread correctly, Jackson advised they hadn't heard from the dealer, so the first sentence is bologna.
      2. For a person to say the alignments are fine....they would have to be blind, stupid, and/or in denial. After seeing pics of the guitar, that statement is nothing short of ridiculous.
      3. It sounds like the dealer is in denial about the poor quality of this guitar and they are trying to say that you have a level of expectations that aren't reachable. That's ridiculous. Everybody in this thread agrees the guitar isn't acceptable.

That's three major strikes against the dealer. To be clearer, it appears they are losers who shouldn't be selling guitars at all, let alone coordinating custom shop builds.

I'd push for a rebuild or full refund. I don't see how any other option would be acceptable.

Defianately some pickup routing issues with that guitar and I guess Jackson dosen't have a department that deals with these type of issues directly so your left trying to go through the dealer. I am sure the guitar plays just fine as the string alignment dosen't look bad just the pickups are offset slighlty and most likely why you are having the problems with the dealer, quality is subjective and from the looks of it he's classified you as a hard to deal with client and no longer is interested in doing business with you hence the full refund, right or wrong I don't think you are going to get anywhere with that build other than a full refund.

This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

If the dealer is trying to tell you there's nothing wrong with that guitar he might as well have told you to go fuck yourself! It's quite obvious to everyone who has seen the pics that there's more than one issue with this instrument. Also why would he need your address to send you a check back? You ordered a custom shop guitar off of him and he doesn't know where he's shipping it to? I don't care who the dealer is EVERY USA or custom shop guitar should come with a hang tag. If he ships or shipped it to you without a hang tag I would not accept it. Also just to let you know Mike Shannon does not put electronics in guitars. They have people who do that and they make a lot less money than a Masterbuilder does. Mike Shannon does the actual building of the instruments. Do you think they're going to let Mike Shannon waste his time wiring guitars up when they can pay some monkey to do it for ten or twelve dollars an hour? Not only that do you think Mike Shannon wouldn't have noticed the problems on that guitar if that was him holding it? I am not a Master Luthier and I noticed them.

Sure, why not? If someone can possibly help him, supply him with whatever info you can.

Cool I'll PM it to him. I didn't know if it was against forum rules.

Jackson should know about this dealer jacking with you.
                      Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I am confused about this whole thread, I can see the flaws in the guitar but have you touched and played the guitar in question and ship it back to the dealer or have you only seen pics of it and noticed the flaws. You say the guitar is at the dealers now right? Is the dealer offering you a full or partial refund at all? This whole thing sounds off to me. I own a couple of custom shop Jacksons and the quality of the craftmanship is unmatched to anything I own let alone in comparison to other brand guitars, Even in the wiring, the wiring on mine is so impressive I would disagree that they are paying someone $10 - $12 an hour to produce that high end of quality work. It is a shame to see such work done on a USA Jackson let alone a custom shop model. It is a custom shop and not a select series right? I just hate it when I see crooked trem routes on the USA models, the neck though models are pretty much fucked but the bolt-ons can be tweaked alil bit from what I experienced, But... nothing you can do about the pick-up alignment though. So it is definitely screwed. Good luck with the process on getting this all worked out. I feel for you!!!

This definitely gives me second thoughts on placing a custom shop order for sure!!!

It looked like the dealer offered to cut him a check. And Jackson in general has a well deserved rep for quality on the USA stuff, which makes threads like this even more of a head scratcher.

If I were running the custom shop I probably would have asked for the 23 back and dropped everything to make a 24 for the guy. From a PR standpoint if nothing else this one is just not open to speculation as to correctness or QC. It will always be "yeah make sure you count the frets! Remember the 23 fretter?" So much worse than "remember that one that might have had a bad route that one time that people talked about? No no the other one I can't find the link. Maybe it was a bad angle?"

You'd think they'd want that one to just go away before it became legend.

Bad joke time- "oh I guess that's how he got around artist similar!"
