23 frets??? Is that by design or by accident?
That would be egregious fuck up if by accident or just strange if by design! Either way I just love the look of her.
Nice!!!
If you read the other thread, it was definitely an accident. He shows the order form with 24 frets selected.
I just looked at the pics and read the few posts I saw, I didn't realize there was another page of posts. I would be looking for some kind of compensation, maybe a partial refund but I would definitely keep the guitar, how many 23 fret Kellys could there be out there? Well nevermind, looks like we be seeing more and more egregious screw ups here in the future. That bears this very important question, where is the quality control at the custom shop??? Is noone looking over these guitars before the finishing stage or even during the build stage? What the hell is going on?
There is no way that that 23 fretter escaped everyone it passed in the shop. That was prob a late oh shit moment and they decided to just pass it off and HOPE the customer took it as it was. This is what keeps me from ordering one ever. The Aldrich CS build I had was leaving a bit to be desired in quality too. I have had dk2m's that felt better than that aldrich.
Haters gonna hate
Dilluting the brand one MUTT at a time.
So 23 frets is odd, but 21 is really cool? Mmmmmmkay.

At first I thought "well, maybe it's just a strange customer spec." I mean, maybe he wanted a 22 fret'r to have the neck pickup in the "sweet spot" for tone, but spec'd a compromise of 23 for better upper fret access with the lower horn. Although better than Explorers and Stars, those last couple of frets can be a bitch on a Kelly if you have big hands. Then I saw the work order.
Absolutely inexcusable. I mean how the f**k does that even happen? And make it through inspection, too?
And I can't believe the buyer decided to live with that.
And yes, I completely agree that Jackson is fully aware of build issues prior to shipping these instruments but also knows that a great deal of customers will reluctantly take a couple hundred back on their order and live with the "close enough" build rather than wait another 2 years for them to rebuild their guitar.
It's a damn shame. I love Jackson CS guitars, but heh... I don't see myself ever ordering another while the company is being managed as it is today.

That's what they tried to do with me last spring... They offered a 'little' discount (don't know how much as I refused the idea), to compensate they carved the archtop not to fit the specs... By the way there were other flaws unfortunately...
I don't know anymore either. I am about to drop $4K on a CS Rhoads model and now I find myself wondering if I should even do it. Maybe I'll just buy two USA Selects with the money instead.
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.
