That has to be what happened. The guitar most likely made it through the entire cutting and gluing process as a 24.75" neck with 24 frets, and then only when it was time for the fret slots to be cut was the error discovered. At that point, the thing should have been band-sawed and the build restarted. What should NOT have happened was to just slap 23 frets on it and hope no one would notice. I can't even believe this...

I hope Jackson is reading these posts because they are loosing customers from their own fold.
If it intonates and plays fine I would keep it just for the reason its different I don't play that high up on the neck anyway.

It really seems like Jackson is a lost stepchild that FMIC doesn't know what to do with. They have very few people building guitars. It's like their heart simply isn't into it and that is really showing here lately with some of the builds.

It's just a gross oversight and like Chad said it really looks like a whole bunch of people didn't care and just kept there mouths shut and passed it on down the line. Shameful at best. Not only that Maiden89 how many pairs of hands do you think that guitar went through before it went out the door. That's why I say there's no way it should have made it out of the factory.
That's true. It really was the fault of multiple people, but whoever inspected and passed it off, sure as hell would have been fired by me. That's their number 1 job; to make sure the guitar is up to par. They fucked up horribly. The other guys who handled it should have known too, they would have been severely punished by me if I owned the company. That's just bullshit. It's bad enough the guy had wait 2+ years and pay over $4,000, but to have them screw up the order and have the customer be hesitant to return because he doesn't want to wait another 2 years for them to make it right, is bullshit!

Maybe it was one of those days at the shop, things got screwed up. It happens, but how a company deals with a fuck up speaks volumes about their customer service and trust.

Grover Jackson said that the guitars they're producing now are like relics from a by gone era and that the shop is lost in a time warp of sorts.
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

He said that it plays and sounds great and there aren't any intonation problems.

That still doesn't make sense?? I thought all Kelly's were 25.5 inch scale??? Why would a 24.75 fret board ever even be near a Kelly? I am at a loss here guys!

What's really interesting is while there have been some screw ups in the Custom Select program they've corrected them before they left the shop from what I recall.

This is exactly why it bothers me so much. How the hell did this thing make it out the door. This is going to drive me crazy bro.
